I have been in the field of education for the past twenty years. I started my career in 1990 as a middle school Spanish teacher and that has been my primary job during the last two decades. I have also tutored students with GED studies (students are both English and Spanish speaking) and all work has been done by phone. Finally, in the last six years I have taught basic math skills to soldiers preparing for the ASVAB exam and have taught high school Spanish. I would really love the opportunity to work with new students, young and old.
I have been in the field of teaching for over 20 years and have worked with students from grades 1-12. In the last two years, I have tutored students in grades 1, 2, 4 and 5 and am very familiar with the subject matter that these students do.
In my present job as a tutor and as a former Spanish teacher, I have worked on study skills with all my students-past and present. I develop different activities that they can do to improve the skill they are weak in. For example, if a student is having issues with Spanish, I provide the student with index cards to make flashcards to write vocabulary words on it. I also have used acronyms, games and songs to help improve a student's skills in a particular subject.
