I am a conscientious tutor and enthusiastic advocate of the French language and culture, as I am French myself and spent 42 years there before I moved to the US in 2005. I got a certification of ESC Region 10 substitute training from the state of Texas before I relocated to Long Island in 2010. Besides, I possess a wide variety of French books and magazines for K-12 students, and more importantly have extensive experience in kids’ educational programs.
-Thanks to my doctorate level, I am well organized, and able to search for the right tools and material to develop targeted projects in order to help students with their needs. I demonstrated excellent communication skills and planning expertise in developing educational programs for children creating appealing (and awarded) posters and craft activities for international nights in primary and secondary schools in the US, even creating an annual treasure hunt contest in between schools in partnership with the museums of the town for kids in 4th and 5th grades in France.
- Tutoring kids is thus a natural disposition I already practiced with different children. I helped young Americans to keep up with their French experience abroad, and prepared another one enter back the French school system after a few years in the US.
-As a volunteer judge for the American Association of Teachers of French for three years, I am also aware of French contests contents. I can help with guided speaking, prose and poetry reading exercises which improve pronunciation for middle school and high school students. Besides, I can also provide help with French SAT subject training and AP French exams.
I will dedicate myself to create the right educational material necessary to transmit the learning of the French language and culture in an enjoyable and caring way. Learning a foreign language is an exciting challenge, and I wish it to be an enriching discovery of new horizons, new culture and people for each student as well.
Best luck to you with your experience of the French language.
