I am an experienced Russian teacher (from beginner to advanced levels, private and group classes, including individualized curriculum development) and hold a U.S. Master's degree in Art History. Areas of expertise include conversational Russian practice, business and legal translation, Medieval art and architecture, Gothic revival, and European Modernism.
I am currently teaching Russian levels 1, 2, and 4 at a school in New York, NY. I am a native Russian speaker. I have 7 semesters of academic instruction in Linguistics and Translation and more than 5 years of experience as a Russian language tutor.
As a language teacher, I strive to combine theory and practice for my students to understand and gradually acquire a living modern language. I have experience in creating individually tailored curricula for students with specific needs (business, legal, travel, dating, etc.)
As an art history tutor, I can provide guidance in all major periods in the history of Western art and architecture, as well as theory and philosophy of art and aesthetics. I have also pursued a successful career as an arts journalist and thus can offer instruction in that field as well.
