Hello!

My name is Ryan, and I'm a recent graduate from Bowdoin College, where I majored in Government & Legal Studies and minored in English. I was a columnist for Bowdoin's newspaper and a varsity athlete, so I know the importance of time management. The guidance and direction that a tutor provides can be essential to learning academic material in a complete and timely way.

In high school, I co-directed the National Honor Society's Tutoring Program and was a private math tutor on the side. I also volunteered in the public school system as a tutor during summer school courses. These opportunities helped me to experience a wide range of student difficulties in reading, writing, math, and science. I learned the important of patience and I developed effective teaching strategies to help students overcome academic struggles.

When I was studying for the SATs, I experienced firsthand how important a tutor could be. Although I was studying diligently, a tutor helped me stay on track and gave me the one-on-one attention I needed to score a 2280.

I took a hiatus from tutoring in college, where I instead focused my attention on my studies, my athletics, and the school's newspaper. My studies paid off and I graduated cum laude and as a Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar. Now that I've graduated, I'm living in Manhattan and I'm ready to help the next generation of students.

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy but I offer flexible makeup sessions as well. I look forward to working with you or your child and giving you an edge in your studies!
