Hello! I am a middle school science teacher in the South Bronx. I have also taught high school level chemistry and biology, and my teaching license is in grades 7-12 chemistry. As a teacher, I have worked with all levels of students including special needs students and English language learners. My teaching and tutoring focuses on active learning by the student, which can include having the student create their own problems and applying concepts across a variety of examples and situations. I like to approach subjects from multiple avenues depending on students' preferred learning styles. I am patient and empathetic, but also demanding and like to push students.

Prior to teaching, I was a practicing attorney for 5 years and graduated magna cum laude from law school. Although I enjoyed the law, I missed working with young people and thus decide to switch careers to teaching. My legal experience instilled a strong work ethic and attention to detail that has been a major asset to my teaching career.

Outside of teaching, I am extremely active. I have completed an Ironman triathlon as well as several marathons. I have also hiked the entire Appalachian Trail!

I can be extremely flexible with tutoring hours and locations and am really looking forward to meeting new students!
