ACT English

I have experience working with ACT students both on an individual basis, in all subject areas. I personally scored above the 96th percentile in all ACT subject areas, and feel confident tutoring all areas equally. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have more questions!

Anatomy

I have a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University, and had experience as a teaching assistant to undergraduate students in biology, anatomy, and upper level nutrition courses. In each course, I led a lab class as well as a discussion section, and feel very confident in these subjects.

Biology

As a registered dietitian-nutritionist (RDN), biology is a subject that lies at the foundation of my expertise, and the basis for my daily work. I hold a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University, and during my time there, acted as a teaching assistant in biology, human anatomy, and upper level nutrition courses. In these courses, I taught a hands-on lab course, led a discussion section, and evaluated student work.

I enjoy teaching biology to students, and am confident in my ability to help any student excel in the subject.

College Counseling

Choosing and applying to college can be a long, momentous process with huge implications. There are countless factors and steps to consider, and it can easily become overwhelming for all those involved.

Throughout my experiences of tutoring students through high school, college, and up to graduate level; as well as through my own experiences, I have accumulated an immense knowledge about the college application and acceptance program. I attended Stuyvesant High School, Cornell University, and several graduate institutions, and have been through admissions processes many times personally, as well as being a first-hand observer to the processes of many of my peers. As such, I feel confident in being able to provide up-to-date, relevant advice in today's ever-more competitive admissions climate.

Cooking

I have a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University, and am a Registered Dietitian. Cooking was a part of both my undergraduate and graduate education. During my undergraduate years, I acted as a teaching assistant in a food lab; in my graduate level work, I interned at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Personally, I also enjoy cooking.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience teaching both large classes (25-30 students) and individual students in elementary school subjects such as math, English, reading, language arts, science, and social studies.

ISEE

I attended and graduated from Stuyvesant High School, and have tutored students individually and in a larger, class setting, in all subject areas of both the SSAT/SSHSAT/ISEE tests, very successfully. All of my individual tutoring students have gone on to attend a specialized high school and the test improvement scores in classes has been significant.

Macintosh

I have happily owned and used Macintosh computers for over 10 years, both at work, school, and personally. I have experience using Macintosh laptops (MacBooks). desktops (iMacs), and hand-held devices (iPad, iPhone).

Microsoft Windows

I have used Microsoft Windows for 15+ years, on both PC and Mac operating systems, and am very familiar with it. I am able to explain the basic functions and uses to a beginner user, and to help them gain confidence and proficiency with its use. I am also able to assist students with many of the programs common on Windows - such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and the list goes on.

Nutrition

I am a Registered Dietitian, and possess a B.S. from Cornell University in Nutritional Sciences, and completed my dietetic internship from Hunter College in New York City. During my time at Cornell, I was a teaching assistant in several nutrition and science courses.

Proofreading

I have a B.S. in Nutrition and Law from Cornell University. I have received a full score on my SAT II Writing exam, and above the 96th percentile in SAT Reading and Writing, ACT Reading, and in the 95th percentile on the LSAT. In addition, at this point in my life and career, I have extensive experience with writing professional pieces and composing grammatically correct and compelling pieces.

PSAT

During my time at Stuyvesant High School, I scored in the 95th percentile on the PSAT, and was named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. I proceeded to take the SAT, SAT II, and ACT tests, which test similar subject areas, and scored above the 95th percentile in all areas in all exams.

SAT Math

I have had many years of experience teaching SAT math to both individual students and larger classes. I have personally received a full score on the math sections of the SAT, ACT, and SAT II Math 1 and 2 tests, and enjoy the process of helping students reach their full potential in this subject area.

Study Skills

I attended rigorous high schools and college, and graduated both with honors. I have also scored above the 95th percentile on all standardized exams I have taken, much of which I attribute to my study habits. In all students that I tutor in any subject, study skills are a key factor to success and it is a built-in topic that I feel comfortable addressing with any student.

Great Tutor Overall! Yiwei started tutoring me in SAT Subjects (Math, Critical Reading, and Writing), but over time has also helped me with AP world history, geometry, and study skills. In all of these subjects, she has helped me immensely. She is not only very knowledgeable in all of the topics that she agrees to take on, but she is also able to explain concepts clearly and in a way that is the most helpful to me. As ...
