As a tutor, my goal is always to facilitate understanding and appreciation of the material. Firmly Aristotelian, I believe the goal of a teacher is to help a student come about the correct understanding in his own way, and to this end I always adapt my teaching style to best serve my students.

I tutor many subjects in math, including algebra 1, algebra 2, prealgebra, and pre-calculus. I also teach high school biology and proofreading and writing skills of all levels, having had extensive training and experience in professional and academic writing.

I have backgrounds in test prep in LSAT and ACT, and I am trained in and have taught classical and contemporary singing.

Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss your individual needs, or if you would like to get in touch with my previous clients. I look forward to hearing from you!

Study Skills

I learned very thorough study and time-management skills, because I personally struggled with such things when I was younger. From this, I gained a unique perspective into how to help students develop the study skills which will serve them best. That has allowed me to help my students develop the study skills they need to do well in school.

Voice (Music)

I studied classical voice for five years, taking weekly lessons and working on a variety of repertoire ranging from the 17th century to the 20th century. I also performed in many amateur and semi-professional ensembles, most notably as part of Chicago Chorale at various high profile concerts, such as at the Ravinia Festival with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 2011. I have taught students in the past, and I continue to teach students on my own time.

Writing

I've written professionally in all sorts of areas, from public policy to grant applications and publications. My focus has always been in crafting work that is easy for the reader to understand while fulfilling all of the requirements of the given project, and I have found this to be a rewarding and exciting subject to teach.
