I am a recent college graduate from McGill University with a BA in art history (minor in drama), who remained on the Dean's list throughout my university career. I would be eager to tutor in multiple areas of art history. I excelled in diverse subjects in high school (including AP art history); I feel confident tutoring English (grammar, vocabulary, analysis & composition, reading, and at the college level); math (elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, and some calculus concepts), and Spanish (grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, composition). I am especially passionate about Spanish, which I studied seriously for seven years in school and practiced during a one-month immersive program in Spain.

I believe I have excellent communication skills (I can also tutor in strengthening your own communication skills) and a very patient approach. I will explain concepts with clarity and make sure you fully understand them before moving on. I am dedicated to making sure you get the most out of the tutoring sessions as possible and will create a safe environment in which you feel you can work on any thing you wish to address.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Literature

I have written many analytical papers about literature, as well as about dramatic texts. This involved coming up with creative ideas about the literature, based on textual evidence, and incorporating quotations to make convincing arguments within clearly structured papers. As an editor, I have written to-the-point summaries that incorporate and synthesize the important ideas from various source texts.
