Would you like tutoring services in subjects ranging from the biological sciences to European military history? Are you interested in applying to a prestigious undergraduate university or medical school? If so then you should look no further for THE most qualified tutor with the most to offer any prospective clients.
My approach to meeting with all prospective tutees is quite simple. We first outline a set of clear goals and expectations for outcomes for our work together, decide on an appropriate schedule and timeline, and then we work together to assess the tutee's baseline knowledge base. My technique focuses on diagnosing the "3 R's" of learning and memory: RECEPTION (learning and acquisition), RETENTION (how well the student internalizes the material), and RECALL (how well the student can convey his or her understanding back to me or in a test setting. As such, I focus our tutoring meetings on active learning techniques that stress these components of learning and supplement in person or online tutoring with goal-oriented homework assignments as well.
As an MD/PhD student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai I have served as the Director of the Peer Tutoring Service for the past 4 years and I have won multiple awards from students and the administration honoring my work. I tutor all levels in the biological sciences, spanning from high school science to medical school pathophysiology and USMLE. I have tutored dozens of students over the past 10 years, all of whom have gone on to success in their chosen fields. My SAT/ACT/USMLE scores all ranked in the top 97-99 percentile, so you can expect an expert knowledge base.
Moreover, I have many years of experience in the admissions process for both undergraduate (Ivy League) and Medical schools, including mock interviews, personal statement review, and resume preparation. For the past three years I have served as the course director for the "Medical School Application Preparation" program for Mount Sinai masters students and post-bacs. I will gladly offer my expertise to help polish your application for undergraduate or AMCAS to maximize your chances of success.
My undergraduate degree also included a Military History major and I am thus also qualified for the tutoring and help in essay preparation for all European and American History subjects.
Teaching is THE passion of my life and I look forward to working with you! I am conveniently located on the UES for tutoring services either in a classroom setting, online, or in the luxury of your own home.
