I have worked as a certified classroom teacher in Cairo, Egypt for over years where I received special training and instruction on how to deal with special needs students.

There were numerous courses and exams required which assessed your readiness to deal with special needs students such as ADD and ADHD.

Arabic

I grew up in an Arabic speaking household and continue to speak Arabic fluently to this day.

As a college student in NYU, I opted for Arabic as my second language requirement course and successfully traversed through beginner, intermediate, and advanced Arabic class levels over the course of several years.

Recently, I have spent more than 4 years in Egypt which is primarily an Arabic speaking country and have had the chance to adopt up to date spoken and written language skills in a real life modern Arabic speaking community.

Basketball

I am a life long participant of playing basketball in my home community on the upper east side where I have spent several years playing basketball recreationally in my neighborhood. I have also part taken in practice sessions with coaches and fitness leaders who happened to be giving instruction in the parks where I've played.

I have spent 4 years playing high school basketball on my school's team at NYC Lab School. As players we were required to engage in strenuous physical training including cardiovascular fitness, weight-lifting, and basketball drills designed for enhancing ball control and shooting skills.

As a college student at NYU I played basketball recreationally in NYU's Coles Fitness center in SOHO very often. There were periods of several months at a time where I attended friendly but competitive pick-up style basketball gaming sessions daily. As a result of this frequent visitation and vigorous play I gained a newfound love and talent level for the sport of basketball.

Drawing

Since the age of 4 years old I have been an avid drawer and lover of the visual arts. I have always kept a sketch book and continue to do so until this very day. I also have an online portfolio containing my digital and hand-drawn arts pieces for showcase.

I have receive numerous accolades for my drawing and painting skills throughout my K-12 years and at one point I was enrolled in an oil paints course in the 92nd Street Y center on scholarship because of my exceptional art skills. I have also been chosen at Asphalt Green on 91st Street and East End to showcase my work in annual art exhibit.

As a college student and post graduate student my artistic talents have been used commercially and for non-profit causes. I have helped develop franchise themes for businesses as well as non-profit websites which promote youth activities.

As a classroom teacher I have also used drawing inside and outside of my classroom to illustrate stories and aid in vocabulary explanation.
