My name is Miro and I am currently a junior attending the Honors Program at CUNY Baruch College.

As a proud alumnus of Stuyvesant High School, I have plenty of experience taking exams, as well as being tutored and tutoring other students. I specialize in all sorts of test preparation amongst other areas, including: Regents, SHSATs, SATs, etc. These exams can be tough for many students. However, I am familiar with many test taking strategies that can really improve students' scores. I can tutor students ranging from K-12 through college, effective with children all the way to adults, ready for the college admissions process.

I am passionate about teaching others, especially if a student has a lot of potential. With many satisfied students (having achieved higher scores as well as a better understanding of a subject), my tutoring can go a long way to improving the academics of others. I am patient but prudent, using many unique methods to effectively tutor students. From time-saving to elimination techniques, I employ a combination of tried and true strategies to maximize scores and teach students.

Having gone through Kaplan as well as numerous tutors in subjects ranging from math to English myself, I have a clear firsthand experience. Many strategies did not work, yet some stood out and I continue to employ these to my advantage. Time is of the essence in certain cases, do not prolong the wait. Doing well on an exam (especially the SATs) can mean the difference between going to the target college of your dreams or to that dreaded safety. Invest wisely in education.

I have a Regents diploma from Stuyvesant HS.
Having passed all the Regents from Math to Earth Science, I can really help others pass these dreaded assessment exams. In addition, a dozen or so students I have tutored have passed their Regents thanks to my help.

SAT Math

I received a 770 on the Math section of the SATs, took Calculus in college, and have tutored many students for the SATs, multiple Regents exams as well as the SHSAT.

In addition, I know many test taking strategies for solving problems ranging from Math to Critical Reading problems.

SAT Reading

The SAT Reading section is one that I am very familiar with. Having taken the SATs twice, Reading was my main focus the second time. With about a 100 point increase, I know the main areas to target and how to do so.

This section tends to be the hardest for most students taking the SATs, and therefore must be taken especially seriously.

SAT Writing

Writing is the third section of the SAT, and tends to be least focused on. However, for liberal arts majors, a good score is key to getting accepted into a preferred college. Having scored a 700 on this section as well as years of additional practice in college level classes, I am confident in my writing skills. In addition, there are several methods I have employed to tutoring students and helping them improve their writing skills.

World History

History is one of my main passions. In addition to geography, we can only learn from our mistakes. History is bound to repeat itself if we are ignorant of it, and thus knowing one's history s crucial to progressing as a human being.

I have taken many courses in history, ranging from World History to American History.

I enjoy writing persuasive essays, received a 700 on the writing portion of the SATs, and took many upper English and writing courses in college. My writing incorporates complex ideas as well as terminology to more effectively convey ideas.

In addition, I have experience writing college admissions essays, including scholarship papers.
Reading good material is perhaps the best way of improving one's writing skills.
