I've experienced and reached academic success due very much in part to the help given to me by more experienced learners. Their tips and savvy provided me with a wide range of tools which has led me through success academically from High School through Graduate School, with standardized tests throughout.

I have experience as a teacher, and was raised in the competitive public schools of Westchester, giving me first-hand experience with high expectations and competition, but moreover, how to succeed under these conditions. My undergraduate work at University at Albany, SUNY was marked by close working relationships with my professors, and a high level of success in both my major and in courses outside my concentration. This success was reached through the melding of various study skills and strategies, in addition to simple hard work and consistent communication with a wide support structure. As a graduate student, my time was marked by the ability to focus my studies more specifically, while aiming to become more independent in my work and research. Professionally, I work full-time as a non-profit grant writer, putting a synthesis of all my skills to use in a professional setting.

I think it's only fitting that I can use my own experience, both academically and professionally as an educator, to help young people reach their own potential. I have a high level of understanding and empathy for the wide spectrum of study methods and learning styles, and I take pride in my ability to tweak my style as needs require. I consider it a powerful opportunity to put my own knowledge, experience, and passion as an educator to use to help students achieve at their highest.
