I graduated from Harvard in May 2014 with a degree in Neurobiology. I work as an investment
banker in NYC. I taught the SAT
with Ivy Insiders (only for top scoring teachers) and Living Stone Academy (for students at TJHSST-- the high school with the highest average SAT score in the nation). I am currently the curriculum designer for the SAT for the company POINTS Prep. I have scored in the 99+ percentile SAT and took 14 AP courses in high school. I had a 3.9 GPA at Harvard my senior year. I have scored a perfect 2400 under the supervision of the private firms in which I have worked.
SAT tutoring is a personal investment in your child's future. Two hundred points on the test can be the difference between full tuition honors scholarships and the hanging out on the wait list. Your investment will pay off in more college options, scholarships, and academic awards. Your score can be that extra push your child's application needs to get into selective colleges.
I am a very affable person and have not only taught the SATs, but also held award-winning programs internationally. In my last class, I raised the average SAT score by 215 points with my 19 students. Long-term individual tutoring usually results in 300-400 point increases combined, depending on your child's base level and our timeline.
The lesson planning has already taken hundreds of hours, so you'll be on the receiving end of my institutional knowledge with Ivy Insiders, Living Stone Academy, and POINTS! I know there are a lot of tutors online, but none have the specialized knowledge of the SAT as I do. They work on the SATs as a hobby. I tutor professionally.
Kaplan hired me a few years ago and told me that they would charge kids $2899 for 32 hours and convince parents that 50 points is a good improvement. I felt sick to my stomach. I immediately told them I no longer wished to work with the company. I will write a contract for you that if a student starts at 1500, I will personally guarantee you that he or she will be at 1700 in 18 sessions or I will give your student free lessons until he or she reaches that score.
Always online (Very effective for Math
). I have a Surface so I can tutor similar to Khan Academy. Online rate is VERY negotiable.
My prices are based on my availabilities. I love teaching, but I also work as an investment banker, so I have to allocate my time effectively.
Rates and sessions:
I require 2 hour sessions once or twice a week for 2 months or so depending on the student's level. I will develop a timeline for the student and we can agree to a meeting schedule. I will always tell you exactly what I think my expectations are and your best options. You will pay $150 for 2 hours, so effectively $75/hr.
I have worked with students at all ranges of the SAT spectrum. I think 1500-1800 students will see the biggest improvements on a percentile basis, but I have worked with ~1900-2000 to get to 2200.
Please feel free to message me.

SAT prep is $75 an hour given my test prep background, history of success, and number of references. I offer special pricing for long-term tutoring for those who want 300 point increases.
