Hey guys,

My name is Abbie and I graduated from Columbia University in 2011, with a degree in psychology and a pre-med concentration. More recently, I completed my Masters of Public Health at Columbia University with a concentration in Environmental Health Sciences. I have extensive experience as a teaching assistant for graduate students in different arenas throughout the public health school, as well as at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs. I have been published twice in peer-reviewed psychology journals and presented at a national oncology conference. I am particularly adept in tutoring science, math and statistics material, but am available for most subjects. Additionally, I have extensive scientific research experience for students needing assistance with lab courses.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Abbie

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biostatistics

I completed biostatistics at the Columbia University School of Public Health, receiving a final grade of an A. I am familiar with all the topics covered in a typical introductory biostatistics class from mean/median analysis to ANOVA and x^2 testing.

Psychology

As an undergraduate at Columbia University, I majored in Psychology. I took a wide range of classes, covering topics from learning and attention theories to neuroscience to psychological study design. I finished with a 3.6 major GPA and feel comfortable explaining topics covered in any undergraduate (and some graduate) courses in this subject area.

Statistics

As an undergraduate and graduate student, I have taken a number of statistics courses and feel confident in tutoring any material covered during an introductory class, linear regression course or multi variable analysis class.
