I am an experienced, Cambridge certified ESL tutor who currently teaches professionally at Embassy Center for English Studies in Midtown Manhattan. Prior to that, I worked abroad as an ESL instructor at International House in Brno, Czech Republic.

The main focus of my ESL tutoring is to empower you to communicate effectively in an environment in which you feel comfortable expressing yourself. Lessons focus on the productive and receptive skills of speaking, writing, listening, and reading. In addition, we will study grammar and vocabulary with the goal of enabling you to be able to communicate effectively in an international environment. I have a wide variety of materials available to me and activities include role-plays, working with newspaper articles, and discussions on important issues and current events.

In addition to my skills as an ESL tutor, I am a skilled actor and singer who currently studies with a professional acting and singing coach. Whether it be preparing for auditions, learning to read music, or learning about the business side of performance, we will work on your artistic goals so you are able to market yourself as a professional performer in the competitive market of music and theater.

Learning to communicate effectively in English involves mastering the skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

In order to accomplish this, we will work on listening and reading for main ideas and specific information, developing grammar and vocabulary skills, and practicing writing and discussion skills that emphasize the grammar and vocabulary.

Writing activities include writing a letter to a friend, a letter of complaint, a cover letter for a job application, as well as dialogue and story writing.

Speaking activities include role-plays, dialogues, and discussions about multiple topics including global warming, current events, movies, and the media.

Having a clear and comprehensive understanding of English grammar is imperative to writing and speaking effectively in today's competitive educational and business markets. Whether you are applying to college, interviewing for a job, or writing your first story, grammar is essential to communicating effectively in writing or speaking.

I have worked for over 3 years with English students, helping them to perfect their grammar so they not only know how to analyze it, but also use it with ease in real life situations.

It is my highest priority to provide you with grammar lessons that are not only effective but interesting and entertaining as well. With this in mind, grammar lessons will focus on the controlled practice of a targeted grammar point followed by a written or spoken activity that emphasizes the correct use of the specified grammar.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding my methodology or approach to teaching grammar. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing my excitement and passion for this important skill with you or your child!

I learned to hand sew when I was in elementary school from my mother and learned how to use an electric sewing machine in high school. I have created many dresses with my knowledge of sewing and assisted with stitching and mending in my college theater's costume shop. In addition, I assist middle school students with hand sewing their knitted projects.

Theatre is, has been, and always will be my first love. I currently study privately with my own acting coach and received my bachelor of arts in theatre from Point Park University. I also studied abroad at the Accademia dell’Arte in Italy where I worked with Italian actors on the art of Commedia dell’Arte, or Italian improvisational theatre.

I believe that theatre skills increase communicative, academic, and creative thinking in children and adults alike. Theatre is also a great way to overcome your fears of public speaking, meeting new people, and working in groups.

Theatre lessons for children and adults consist of improvising scenes, reading and analysing the action of each character in the script, and getting on their feet and performing!

Please email me if you have any questions regarding my teaching methodology or lesson approach when it comes to theatre. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing my love of this great art form with you or your children!

The art of writing effectively involves a strong understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and the mechanics of different writing styles. Whether it be writing a business letter, creating a persuasive essay, or developing the characters and plot of a fictional story, strong grammar and writing mechanics are imperative to the development of a written work.

I have worked for over 3 years with English as a Second language students in the areas of writing and grammar, and continue to develop writing activities that include cover letters, story writing, business letters, as well as informal writing techniques.

My goals as your writing tutor include creating effective and engaging writing activities that focus on the correct grammar and mechanics of a specific written piece. This includes looking at the structure of different written works and controlled grammar practice.

Please feel free to contact me in regards to my writing methodology and I look forward to working with you and sharing my love of the written word!
