I have hundreds of hours of experience tutoring in test preparation (ACT/SAT), essay coaching, government/economics and mathematics. My students have gained admittance to schools of all shapes and sizes -- from state institutions like the University of Florida and SUNY-Binghamton to Ivy League schools like Harvard, Columbia, and UPenn. I myself was admitted to three ivy league schools and know what it takes to be successful in the college admissions process.
In terms of my personal experience with standardized tests, I received perfect scores on both the reading and math sections of the ACT and the math section of the SAT; I also took 16 AP Exams. My students find my testing strategies to be extremely effective come test day and most find their practice test scores increase within just a few sessions.
I look forward to working with you as you strive to achieve your educational goals! I have hundreds of hours of experience tutoring in test preparation (ACT/SAT), essay coaching, government/ Read more
We found ourselves in a rather stressful situation, having a sudden change of course regarding our son's education. We are an expat family who live in Mexico, & rather urgently decided to pursue a college education in the US. With just 2 months to achieve a number of requisites to check the boxes in order to apply to the US colleges we were frankly in a state of despair & ready to postpone everything until next year.
Then we found Chad! He has been a life saver! From the first session, he gave our son confidence & direction & has helped us as a family to navigate the stormy seas that are the college application process. He worked with us to determine our son's particular strengths & assisted with specific remediation of his weak points in order to eliminate them, & raise his overall scores. He has given direction on a wide number of topics from which colleges might suit us best, as well as ways in which to maximize entry chances.
He is always punctual, has always accommodated us in his busy schedule, & has excellent follow up, finding specific practice exams, examples of types of questions which need polish, & demonstrating points raised in tutorial sessions, as well as suggesting the next steps, so that we proceed in a logical, timely & far less stressed fashion. He communicates very well with our son, gets straight to the point, & ensures he gets it - we consider every minute an excellent investment. There has been no wasted time.
Chad always responds promptly to emails & has answered the many & varied questions us "newbies" to the US school system have thrown at him. He goes above & beyond what we would expect & I have to say has added sanity & logic to what can often seem like a "crazy" process. More than that - we found Chad just in time, he has spurred our son on, right about when he was despondent & ready to quit & we all believe there's a very definite chance now, when just 6 weeks ago we had no idea even how to start! Our heartfelt thanks Chad - from the whole family!
Chad started working with my son, Joseph, during the beginning of his senior year in high school. Since he is my oldest child, I knew nothing about the college application process, so I requested a tutor who could help Joseph through this daunting and very stressful process. Chad responded, and at first I was hesitant because he would be working online with my son. However, after the first session Chad had with Joseph, I noticed a difference in Joseph. Not only did he know much more about the college application process, but he was actually motivated to start working on his already-late essays. Chad had several sessions with Joseph, all leading to essays that were well-developed and allowed him to express his true personality rather than just becoming "generic". Chad was responsive to any and all emails I would send him, and his answers were insightful. Now, Joseph knows his "reach, fit, and safety" schools because of Chad's direction and guidance. Not only has he helped Joseph immensely with his college essays, but he has instilled a sense of passion and excitement in working through this college process. I highly recommend him. You will not regret it for one second.
Chad is above and beyond an outstanding tutor! He is engaged, articulate, and extremely knowledgeable in various fields and on so many topics. He is patient and committed, and dedicates his knowledge to the needs of the individual student at hand, so they are ensured success! We are grateful for Chad's expertise! WyzAnt is extremely fortunate to have Chad, as are we. Thank you for sharing your intelligence and insight, Chad. You are a blessing.
I have been very overwhelmed with my FSOT coming up in February. During my practice exams, I kept drawing blanks when I came across U.S. government questions. I felt very frustrated and embarrassed. This tutor has been taking me step by step through it, and I am feeling more confident. One of my favorite things about him as a tutor is that he did some research on the exam to see what the questions are like; anyone can tell he genuinely cares and serious about teaching politics. I am not bored at all during the sessions, probably because of his passion for the subjects he teaches. I would recommend him to everyone!
Chad is a brilliant tutor. He is helping my daughter in Honors Geometry as well as helping prepare her for the PSAT/SAT. He is thoroughly prepared for each lesson, sends a summary of concepts covered and areas of focus for the next lesson, and even prepares assignments for her to work on for the following week. As a parent I feel I well informed and enjoy seeing her progress and increasing confidence. His use of WebEx for the sessions is extremely convenient for us. I recommend Chad wholeheartedly.
Highly recommended. Chad is very good at showing how to work through an essay. Chad is patient and explains matters at a level that our daughter connected with instantly. Chad understands attention to detail and has an incredible depth of knowledge. Chad is quick to respond. He truly made a difference.
Chad has only been working with my brother and I for a short while, but he has been extremely helpful for both of us. We are both applying to college, and with the process being so stressful, it is good to know that someone who is as knowledgeable as Chad is able to help us. Chad is always available to help and he reviews essays and supplements the day we sent them to him, which is very nice. He always has helpful advice and always understands what I am trying to get at in any piece of writing and helps polish it and get the point across in a very eloquent and well written way. Overall, Chad has been a great tutor and we are very happy with his services. We will continue working with Chad through our college application process and further on. Chad is an excellent writer and an excellent tutor!
Chad is a great tutor. I will definitely recommend him to friends. Chad is very patient and I like his method of explaining materials. Thank you.
As my algebra 1 and geometry 1 tutor, Chad K. is a awesome for several reasons. First, he is always well prepared for tutoring sessions. Whenever a student has a question, he has an answer for it. Second, he possesses affluent knowledge of the materials covered during the session, ready to be shared with the students. With his adequate characteristics, Chad is successful on leading the students into the topic each day. Because of his nice personality, it is easier for the students to follow him along the sessions, especially when the students to not understand something, he kindly explicates the topic until the student completely grasps it. Another good thing about Chad is that the speed he gets through the lesson is fast enough. What I mean by that is that, he doesn't cover every single step of a content, but only the core parts of a unit. Thus, it will be great to work with him especially when a test is upcoming. For the lesson, he uses an application called Webex, which it great. It allows both ends of the connection to write and draw certain figures that wishes to show to the other person, in real time.
Chad is very professional and is very knowledgeable about the college process. He gets right to the point and has helped me improve my application dramatically. I would recommend him to any student who is struggling with the process or who just needs extra help on his or her essay.
Chad is probably one of the best tutors I've ever had. He gave me insight on the college process and also helped me decide on which colleges to apply to. He uses an online webchat which makes it easier time-wise and location-wise. Moreover, Chad is extremely helpful when it comes to explaining and editing essays. He's very concise and knows what he's doing. I look forward to every meeting we have!
Chad is very helpful when it comes to college counseling. He is able to easily understand what about yourself you want to convey to admissions counselors. Chad also helps you realistically align your goals and does everything he can to assuage your chances of getting in to the school of your dreams. I highly recommend him! Great tutor!
Chad and I have been working together on my college applications for 3 weeks now, and I have to say that choosing Chad to help me was a great decision. Even though he is at UPenn and I am in New Jersey, we use WebEx video chatting and it works great. Chad has a plethora of knowledge about colleges and ways you can work the system to maximize your chances of getting in. He has also simplified the essay writing process for me; I had over 20 supplements to write and he narrowed it down to three essays that can be tweaked to work for all of them. Chad is also very honest which is necessary in the stressful process that is applying to colleges, if he thinks something you said or did in an essay hinders your chances of getting in, he will let you know. All in all, I recommend Chad to anyone looking for some help with college applications and college essays.
Chad is to be commended for his professionalism, and quality of instruction at such a young age. He plans well and works diligently at being organized. He is exceptionally intelligent, passionate, and has the communicative skills to teach any subject. Chad is unbelievably talented and resourceful and I recommend him without reservation!! He helped my daughter bring her ACT score from a “28” to a “34” in just two months. A 34 on the ACT is definitely more impressive than a 28!! Thank you for all your help, support, encouragement, advice on college admissions, and standardized tests. My kids refer to him as “genius”!
Chad is very easy to reach, prompt response time.
He is very knowledgeable of subject and really challenges me so that I learn the material.
Chad is very bright and dependable.
My son thought the online tutorial was fun. My son is delighted with the help Chad is giving him. He is looking forward to the next Webex interaction.
My son says 5 stars again. Chad is very effective and very time efficient.
Chad has the ability to explain concepts and fundamentals extremely well and he puts it in a layman's language that anybody can understand easily. He is an excellent tutor!
Chad tutors over Skype, which works out so well for working parents who have students in sports that also need tutoring. Chad makes it fun for my daughter to learn, and he is light years ahead of where her regular class at school is currently. I have no doubt that she'll be prepared for her AP Calculus exam in the spring!
Utilizes all available resources. Explains answers well and makes sure you don't forget. Helps with more than you even asked for. Raised my ACT score by 5 whole points in about a month!
I am so glad that I found Chad thru WyzAnt. My son had just a few weeks to his SAT tests. While generally prepared on the subjects, he wanted a one-on-one tutor for his final preparation. Initially, we were apprehensive about the online internet based tutoring format, but decided to try it, since the first lesson was a no-obligation trial. My son was excited after his very first hour. Not only was he comfortable with the online format but more importantly with how Chad approached the lessons. Chad knew exactly what my Son was looking for; simple strategies to maximize his score. After several lessons, the thing that my Son talks about the most is how much he learned about the strategies to taking a test, how to plan answering sections, and how to maximize your score. That is exactly what my Son needed more than subject content. I would, without hesitation, highly recommend Chad to anyone looking for personalized tutoring for SAT type of tests. Chad experience is very current with today's testing formats.
I've been having difficulty with physics for a while and Chad helped me understand everything fairly quickly. He explains everything enough so you understand it entirely. I was very pleased
Chad is tutoring my son for sats and acts. It is just great. We don't even leave the house. I can hear everything that is being taught so I don't have to ask a million questions. I am very happy with my son"s progress. Chad knows a whole lot about taking the tests and has given us great advice.
Chad tutored my twins both juniors in High school. He was very patient. He spent time figuring out each kid's needs and talked with them about a plan to work on the issues. The kids told me they had a good experience.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
