Bonjour! Born and raised in Quebec City, I have been an actor and singer most of my life, and since my arrival in New York almost three decades ago, I have championed French language
and culture in most of my work. As an actor, I have often performed the French classics
as well as modern French and Quebecois pieces; my work in voice over is also mostly for the European French and Quebec market. As a singer, I have just received a Bistro Award for my homage to French icon Yves Montand.
My acting and communication skills, my deep love and command of the language and my thorough knowledge of grammar
make me an ideal candidate for tutoring, something I have been doing through the last twenty years with great pleasure and success. Through the years, I have become quite astute at discerning learning obstacles that come in the way of each individual and at figuring out ways (improvising!) to conquer these obstacles to move forward. My present and previous students have benefited from my being an excellent listener, my ongoing patience and my dedication to them as I consistently work at filling my pupils with confidence and a sense a joy as they're learning to speak, understand, read and write the beautiful and complex language that is my mother tongue.
I believe in hard work, drilling verbs, doing homework as much as one's life (especially for adults) can allow. I also believe in allowing for making mistakes and just having fun in a new territory. My experience has taught me that each student determines the path we take as everyone responds to some approaches and techniques better than others: visual, auditory, learning by heart, playing, etc. I help my students grow, overcome fears of all sorts and develop themselves as individuals through their commitment, dedication and enthusiasm for a new culture and language that also expand their views and values. I consider it a privilege to accompany them on this journey and look forward to sharing such an experience with more students. One thing is for sure: no matter how hard it may get, I'll never give up on You!
