I have a NYC Certificate of Permanent Appointment and a NYS Permanent Certificate of Education and would like to help you learn everything you need and want to know. Spelling

As a reading specialist, I know that spelling develops alongside the reading and writing process. Sounding out a word, learning word patterns, and the meaning of words, will help you spell a word correctly. At the same time, I always encourage my students to discover new words and learn how to spell and use them properly. Together we will work to develop better spelling habits.

Study Skills

I have a NYC Certificate of Permanent Appointment and a NYS Permanent Certificate of Education and would like to help your child improve study skills. The best way is to integrate study skills into your child's specific material and assignments and then set goals. Is your assignment to write a book report? We will work on skills like: writing an outline, a description of the main idea, a study of the principal characters, the action, what the book has taught your child.

Vocabulary

From my earliest memories, my parents read me stories, teaching me new vocabulary and ways to express myself along the way. Later, as a teen, I expanded my skills at the dinner table, where we had stimulating conversations. Let me help you expand your vocabulary knowledge, from what you read and what you want to write.

If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
