Thank-you for looking at my profile. I am an experienced tutor with seven years of experience in a whole range of subjects. I love working with people of all ages. I have helped several students prepare College Admissions applications, both to Universities in the US and the UK. My background and interest in Theater have allowed to me coach individuals on public speaking, particularly those who are learning English as a foreign language.

I really believe that a good tutor can help provide not only technical expertise, but focus on helping instill a sense of confidence in students which keeps them in good stead during their time in university and afterwards. This is primarily what I aim to do. I have always developed friendships with my students, and they have often consulted me for issues beyond academic help - and I think creating that sense of trust is essential to a good learning environment.

About Me:
I've always had a passion for Art and Science, and my background and training have intensely focused on these two. I graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Art History and Fine Arts, and a minor in Chemistry. I have a strong interest in social justice, particularly health-behaviour change. I received a Master in Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and have since worked in India and Cambodia on Water Sanitation Issues. I currently work at Columbia University as a researcher focusing on water sanitation issues in central West Africa.

ACT Reading

I have had several years teaching the ACT and can help with the Reading sections, as well as advise candidates on the differences between the SAT and ACT. I think with a careful plan of action and the right guidance, it is very possible to do well on this standardized test, and I have seen many students do very well with my assistance.

Algebra 1

I absolutely love to teach Algebra - I'm very passionate about this amazing subject and love explaining it and making other students get to grips with it. I know a lot of students feel afraid or daunted, but it's very straight forward when explained in a patient engaging manner and that's what I endeavor to do.

College Counseling

Since graduating from Princeton University, I have conducted Princeton Alumni Admissions Interviews with over 50 Princeton applicants from across the US, the UK and India, and these experiences along with my own successes have enabled me to advise students on the undergraduate college application procedures. Individuals I have worked with students whom have gained entry into the top tier universities both in the US as well as the UK.

I offer assistance in the following areas:

- Information on applying to Colleges in the US and the UK (procedures, deadlines, etc.)
- Admissions Essay Writing
- Interview practice

I graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Art History and Visual Arts. I have had three solo exhibitions, and taught art to middle schoolers. I am trained as a painter, and I very much believe that anyone can improve in their ability to see and draw, and think creatively.

I have been tutoring High School English for several years, and can offer assistance with Essay Writing, Text Analysis and Vocabulary Development.

I am a Native English Speaker and have been trained as an ESL-ESOL tutor, working with several students from Taiwan, South America and Europe.

My strategy is to work on reading, writing and speaking at once, choosing interesting topics (such as film, social life, family) on which to be able to develop conversation. I have a good rapport with many of my students and still keep in touch even after they have left the US. I love talking to and meeting new people, and I think a new language is learned most easily if it's done in a fun way.

I scored in the 99% percentile on my GRE and have advised students on how to prepare for this examination for the last three years.

I believe that with effective careful planning, it is possible to do very well on this examination.

I am a Native Speaker of Hindi, and we can practice conversation, as well as writing and reading. I have lived in India for about half of my life (including the recent year I spent there working for the UN). If you want to learn more about Indian culture as well and possibly some recipes for food (I love to cook!) I'm a great resource.

I am widely read and I take great pleasure in sharing my passion for literature. I think if the right approach is taken, it can be an interesting fun experience, which is key to doing well in this subject.

Having written hundreds of essays throughout high school, college and graduate school, I can offer help with writing as well as proofreading, and essay revision. I am an experienced proofreader and have edited several Master's and undergraduate theses.

SAT Writing

I scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, and currently tutor three high school students in this subject.

I use proven methods to help increase scores in Math, Verbal and Writing, and most importantly - help build a student's confidence. I have access to a range of questions, essay prompts, and techniques, which I can share to ensure success.

I know with the right techniques, success in these exams is well within reach, regardless of whether they loom in a few weeks, or a few years.
