Hi all!

My name is Charlie, and I have been working toward an MS in molecular and cell bio from Brandeis University for the past two years while concurrently working as a full time research professional in an academic lab focusing on electrophysiology, genetics, and biochemistry.

While an undergrad, I was heavily involved in the Brandeis University EMT squad, and devoted significant amounts of time to my sketch comedy troupe. I would consider my greatest skill as a teacher to be my ability to digest and explain complex information in simple, easy to understand ways. My oral and written communication skills are considerable, and help me greatly in that regard. Additionally, because of the many hours I have spent on stage, I have excellent oratorical capacities, and am well versed in a slew of presentation enhancing skills. I will break down my experiences below.

Biology:
1 year of graduate level academic coursework
2 years practical, hands on molecular biology experience
8 years of academic coursework beginning as a first year in High School.
Personal focus on epigenetics, genetic disease, gene therapy, and genetic medicine.
Advanced ability to work with and engage in literature review and analysis

Political Science:
Personal focus on Islam and the West, The American Political system.
I am passionately interested in and up to date with both current politics and US politics over the course of the past several centuries.
Advanced Coursework includes: Liberal Political Thought, American Government, Political Science Methods, The American Presidency, Politics and Religion in the West, Nuclear Proliferation and the Middle East.

Theater:
Writer/editor for 12 stage productions.
Director, 2 stage productions.
Producer, 2 stage productions, with the proceeds from each being donated to the American Cancer Society (to the tune of $2000 each).
Actor, 13 stage productions.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

As a part of my BA in Politics, as well as my completion of high school level studies, I had significant coursework in the arena of American history, particularly with reference to the history of politics and the development of the American political system.

Anatomy

I majored in biology at Brandeis University, where I received my BA, and took several anatomy-related courses over the course of my 4 years there, as well as several anatomy classes in high school.

Biology

I completed a BA in Biology at Brandeis university and have finished half of an MS in molecular and cell biology there as well. Additionally, I have 2 years of experience working in an academic biology and biochemistry lab.

Genetics

I hold a BA in Biology from Brandeis University, where I have also completed half of a MS degree in Molecular and Cell biology. I work professionally as a molecular biologist and molecular geneticist.

Government & Politics

I majored in Politics at Brandeis University, and recieved my BA in the subject in 2011. I have been politically engaged and active for almost 10 years, culminating in my bachelor's degree.

Grammar

As a part of my BA in Politics from Brandeis University, much of my coursework was graded based on grammar and content. I have significant experience with essay writing, the rules of the English language, and grammar.

Special Needs

I have lived with Non Verbal Learning Disablities (NVLD or NLD)my entire life, during which time I have learned to overcome many of the deficits that come with the disorder, including executive processing and social skills related difficulties. Contemporaneously I have Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia, further impairing my daily function, but have again learned to operate at a very high level. As such, I am qualified to assist younger students with symptoms related to the disorders.

Vocabulary

I have a BA in both Politics and Biology, and have been a voracious writer since an early age. I am well-read across multiple disciplines, and have working knowledge of several etymologically significant languages, including Greek, Latin, German, and Hebrew.
