I am going to be a rising Junior in college next year at Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College and for those who don't know what that is, it is the honors program for CUNY. I am willing to help students out with subjects that I love myself and are passionate about and that is important in helping students grasp certain material. All I want to do is lend a helping hand and I love helping people. The subjects mainly are all subjects in Math all the way up to calculus. For standardized tests, I would be able to tutor for all regents exams, but preferably the Math and Chemistry ones. I graduated with an Advanced regents diploma with Honors, which is having an average above 90 on all regents, SHSAT which is the specialized high school exam in New York, as well as SAT Math and ACT Math. Here's some information you might want to know in order to consider having me as a tutor.
Math: I have always LOVED math. It has always been my favorite subject in school. Since scores are always something that are needed, here are mine!
Regents: Math A, 98 Math B, 93
Not only do I enjoy math, but I also enjoy helping people out with it because it is not as impossible as some may think!
Chemistry: I am planning to major in chemistry in college. I never thought that would happen until I took regents Chemistry which made me fall in love with the subject. I have also taken Advanced Placement Chemistry as well, so I would be able to help out with some of that as well. More scores!
SAT II: 700
Music: I'm sure some have heard of the movie "Fame." I went to that school (Laguardia) and am a devout music enthusiast. First, piano, I have been playing piano for 11-12 years now and I would be able to help out with beginner and intermediate levels of piano. I have won honorable mention, second place, third place, and other awards at numerous competitions in New York and New Jersey. I have also performed at Steinway Hall, Hunter College, and many other places. But I was a voice major at Laguardia. I sing mainly musical theater and opera and some pop. I could work on belting as well as head voice with young learners of music. If any of them want to learn any basic theory, I would be happy to help with that too such as sight reading, or reading music in general for voice students. I'm glad to help with anything.
Volleyball: I was the captain of the varsity Volleyball team at Laguardia. We were in the top 15 in the city. I was asked to play volleyball by a SUNY as well. I have played at camps at Dartmouth and St. Johns. I am a setter, libero, and an outside hitter (varied every year). If I were to label myself it would be libero and setter! If anyone is trying out for the team next year, I can help!
I can help mostly with speaking. My parents are from Beijing, China and I have been speaking Chinese fluently my whole life and would be able to benefit a student in the speaking aspect. i am going to be a rising Junior in college next year at Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College.
I have played piano for 11-12 years. I have only played classical music my whole life on the piano. I am still taking lessons with a very accomplished teacher. Since I was little I entered auditions, competitions, and evaluations all around New York and New Jersey. Below is a list of some of the awards I have gotten over the years. I stopped competing a few years ago but I still love piano just the same. Although I am from the 21st century and I listen to Lady Gaga or Jason Mraz I 100% appreciate the works of the classical, baroque, and romantic era composers who brought us where we are today and who make music that touches my heart, gives me goosebumps, and gets me excited about a deceptive cadence or a resolution of a dissonance. It's safe to say I'm obsessed but, in a good way! Music has been in my life for so long and will continue to be there forever.

I have received a diploma with the Advanced Regents with Honors sticker for high school demonstrating that I had an average above 90 for my regents exams. Here are my scores for all my regents exams.
I have sung since I could talk, which is around 2 years old. I am a musical theater (belter), opera (mezzo-soprano) singer. I have been performing for a great deal of my life. I majored in Voice in high school at Laguardia High School of Music, Art and Performing Arts. I have studied privately with a voice teacher for around 5 years being trained in both musical theater as well as opera.
At school we have participated in numerous performances, mainly choral, where we have performed works such as Handel's "Messiah," Poulenc's "Gloria," as well as "When David Heard" by Eric Whitacre. In fact, we were able to work with Eric Whitacre, a very well known choral composer on his piece in preparation of our performance this past June 2011. Also in October 2010 we performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City as a part of Alexander Markov's composition "Rock Concerto." Also in May 2011 we premiered "A Still Small Voice" which was a work by Arturo O'Farrill, a renown jazz composer. Also for the Opera Workshop at school, I have been in productions of "Naughty Marietta" as well as "Kismet." I was also part of the Show Choir in high school (similar to TV Show "Glee") and performed the song "Freedom" a duet from "The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown" lyrics by Kait Kerrigan and music by Brian Lowdermilk. In fact, the composer of the piece (Lowdermilk) actually gave us a shout out on our video of the performance saying we did a great job. I would be able to assist students on reading music, theory, belting, as well as being able to obtain a resonant head voice.
I would be able to assist in a variety of genres, whether it be pop, r&b, musical theater, or opera or just to help a student learn a certain piece of music.
I have played on the varsity volleyball team in high school. We were in the Division A of Manhattan. I played numerous positions at first I was mainly a defense specialist who played back row, but then I became an outside hitter. However my senior year I became the setter of the team and according to PSAL stats I was in the top 100 for Digs as well as assists in 2011. Our team has ranked as high as No. 15 in the city.
I have participated in Dartmouth Volleyball Camp and I also played in the top court of a camp at St. Johns University, which is a D1 Sports School. I also was nominated to participate in the Exceptional Seniors Game in New York. Not to mention, I was asked to play on the varsity volleyball team for a D3 SUNY college. I would be able to assist those who want to learn on basic skills, such as the set, bump, and serve. I would be able to help most on defensive skills. I am able to help with all the skills. I have managed the varsity boys' volleyball team and I have been an assistant to the coach at school assisting with the game stats as well as skills for the teammates.
