Hello everyone,

My name is Leonard and I am a graduate of Cornell University. During my four years at Cornell, I managed a 3.62 GPA. I was also Valedictorian at my my high school. I passed all my Regent Exams with 80s and above. I also received A's in pretty much all my classes in college and high school.

Currently, I am pursuing my Master's of Education in City College of New York. I also work in several after school programs as a tutor.

Due to my several years of working experience, I can help students tutor in a variety of subjects. I have also worked with students from first grade to 12th grade.

I can help students tutor in several of the following Regents courses offered by NY State:

Geometry, Integrated Algebra, Algebra II/Trigonometry, English, U.S History

For younger students,
I can help tutor children to pass their Math & ELA State Exams. I am very familiar with these exams, Grades 1-8.

Finally, I can help prospective college students do the best they can do on SAT exams!

Thanks very much and I looking forward to working with you.

Algebra 1

I have tutored several students in preparing them for the Algebra I Regents. I use the NY State Regents book when tutoring students. If your son/daughter is still in Middle school, I am also well versed in elementary Algebra.

Algebra 2

I have prepared and tutored students for the Algebra II Regents examination. When tutoring students, I use the NY State Regents book. I have tutored students in Permutations, combinations, complex algebra, using graphing calculator, introductory trigonometry etc.

American History

I have tutored a student in the past in American History. This is actually the subject I enjoy the most since I was a Government major while attending Cornell University. I have also taken several classes on American Foreign policy. I hope to bring this enthusiasm to your child's learning when teaching American History.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have tutored for Grades K-5 in ELA and Math for about two years of professional tutoring. These agencies include Champion learning Center and Harlem Children Zone

I have tutored students for Regents Geometry Exam. When tutoring the students for Regents Geometry I like to use the NY State Regents Geometry textbook since this is the material that will be on the test.

I have worked with PHD students, college students, HS students and elementary students, as I teach them to write in a proper way for their grade-level. I have always enjoyed writing and I can help YOU express yourself through the miracle of paper!

I have two years of Professional tutoring in English (ELA). I am also a graduate of Cornell University.

For those young students, usually in Middle School, Algebra can be intimidating! I help ease the young students in learning Algebra by making it simple, clear and concise. I start from the basics and build on from there.

Over the past year, I have worked with a PHD student in editing her material for a class. Sometimes the essays are rather short. Sometimes they turn out to be 15 page essay. I can help! So if you are in college, still in High School/Elementary school, or perhaps if you just need help with writing, I am the person to look towards for guidance.

Although Reading is a very vague subject, it may be best to express my expertise from this perspective. I have tutored student K-12, College students and Graduate Students. If you are reading a short story passage, novel, or report, I'm the person who can help you use your critical thinking power to figure this stuff out! I read a ton in college...sometimes 1,000 pages for a semester class. Trust me, I can help, even with the less interesting stuff.

I have tutored Regents Geometry, Integ. Algebra and high School level ELA. I have also passed all my Regents exams in high school.

SAT Math

I have tutored students in SAT Math, probably the part of the SAT exam that I enjoy the most. I hope to make your child think in a logic, clear way, when taking the exam. Also, I want them to "relax" so they don't stress out about the exam. The best way to do this is prep them about what's on the exam, how to answer common questions, and to give them the confidence to do well.

SAT Reading

The reading passages on the SAT exam are purposely designed to be mundane and boring. But with my help, I will help bring the reading passages to life as you go in and out of SAT reading questions. It will become more interesting as you learn the techniques and strategies when answering questions!

Social Studies

I was a Government Major in College. I graduated with a B.A. in Government from Cornell University. I was also required to take many History classes to earn my major. When tutoring for an agency, I tutored 6-8 grade Social Studies.

Study Skills

I have two years of Professional tutoring and I am a graduate of Cornell University. As a tutor, I have worked on study skills for Grades 1-12 in helping students prep for exams, organize their homework and take notes.

Sine, Cosine, Tangent, Law of Sines and Cosines! Usually, Trigonometry, in the HS curriculum, is part of the Algebra II Regents. I am familiar and can tutor the Trigonometry based on the Algebra II Regents. So if you need help with basic Trig., I'm your tutor!

I have experience writing thesis statements, checking grammar and prepping students for the SAT writing section.
