I have taught every type of history course. I currently am teaching US history in a college in New York. I have taught AP US History, US History and Government, European History and Western History.
As a social science major at New York University I took many courses in anthropology. As a teacher of history and social studies I have used anthropological data and information in many of my classes.
Throughout my career I have encouraged my students to consider anthropological insights and discoveries to explain much of early human history.
I have been a teacher for over 25 years. As the Dean of Students at the Lenox School, a senior adviser at the Park East day Schools and Head of the Calhoun Middle School, I often advised students regarding their college applications and the essays that they needed to write. In addition I have a great deal of experience as a teacher of writing and research skills.
I have 30+ years of teaching history, sociology, and law; including the workings of the Supreme Court, the American system of jurisprudence and basic and life-changing Supreme Court decisions.
I studied economics under Dr.Emil Lengyel at NYU and am quite familiar with macroeconomic theory, as well as Keynesian theory.
I am currently working with non-English speaking students at a college in Queens. I work with them on their vocabulary, writing, grammar and spelling. In addition, I have many years of experience teaching English, composition, research techniques, spelling and grammar on the secondary level.
I have extensive experience teaching world and European History. Whether it is teaching about the ancient civilizations of Greece, Rome or Egypt; or modern day history that encompasses such topics as the Reformation, the world wars, the rise of monarchies and nation states I have taught those subjects for over 30 years in both public and private schools.
Geography is a subject that can be both fun to learn and useful to know. I first began teaching it over 25 years ago in my first teaching position. Climate, topography and the effect of geography on society and people is an important subject. Having taught it for over 25 years I am both familiar with the material and know how to make it understandable and enjoyable for my students.
Government & Politics
Political science, government and politics were my major in graduate school. I am quite familiar and experienced at teaching US government, comparative government, political systems and their relationship to day's world. I helped to create such programs as Model Congress, taught Advanced Placement US Government and Politics and Comparative government at a variety of schools. I can make these subjects easier to understand, and to master.
As a teacher of English literatureI have taught about a variety of works of literature. From contemporary fiction, to the great classics, Shakespeare to Dickens,Poe to Wadsworth I am able to bring a true understanding of the author's work.
I have taught AP US History & Government for over 20 years; I am currently teaching Government and Political Science at Bramson Ort College. I have 30+ credits in political science from the City University of New York, Graduate Liberal Arts Division.
As the editor of two weekly newspapers, as well as a teacher of English I am quite experienced and familiar with proofreading.
As a teacher for over 25 years I am both experienced and competent in teaching reading.

I also taughht stud skills at JHS 296K, as well as a teacher at Springfield Gardens and Jamiaca HS teaching study skills was an integral part of my job. n addition, as a teacher at the Lenox School, Park East Day School and Columbia Prep including the teaching of study skills was a significant part of my reponsibilities as a social studies.
World history has been a favorite subject of mine since I first began teaching. Whether it is western or eastern civilization, the growth of society or empires I am familiar with the material having taught them for over 25 years at many public and private secondary schools. I can make the material both fun to learn and easier to understand.
I have taught writing for over 20 years. In addition, I am a published writer of a textbook, and have been the editor for two weekly newspapers in New York. I am patient, thorough and enjoy working as a tutor. Currently I am also a professor at a college in Queens.
