I had a chance to meet Mr. Larry. He came well prepared to teach me and helped me understand the difficult Cost Accounting problems that I was struggling with for a long time. He is a very good tutor, actually tells you how you should study and gives good advice.
Larry is patient. Once he realizes you are catching on, he gives you problems to figure out from different perspectives, so that by the time you are done, all of it is clear to you. I even caught my own mistake before he could! Now THAT is PROGRESS!!
Larry does not understand the Tax issues. Even he is a CPA, he does not understand any federal tax issues. For instance, if a taxpayer claim a child tax credit or Earned income Credit, the taxpayer and child must have a valid Social Security Number, but he didn't know that.
This is untrue. Please read other feedback from the students that I have had over the last two years. This student did not know what they were doing and misrepresented himself when he contacted me. He was not looking for a tutor but a test taker. I was very generous with the time I spent with the student. He could not handle that he had to pay for the sessions.
Not only was Larry very patient, he has a very interesting way for motivating and encouraging the appreciation for learning accounting.
Larry really knows his accounting and is able to clearly explain concepts both broad and specific. He is mindful of time and moves the lesson along smoothly in order to cover the material.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
