If you're looking for help in English, in particular if you're a foreigner and need ESL help, you've come to the right place (although I can also tutor other subjects). My ESL specialty is in Business English, as I have an undergraduate degree in Business from Northeastern University.

My name is Alex, and I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in TESOL at Teacher's College in Columbia University. I spent the past 2 years teaching English, first in a one-on-one setting at a reading and writing learning center, and then as an ESL teacher in a private professional language school in downtown Boston. I have taught students of all ages and ability, and am also certified to teach English as a Second Language (CELTA).

I also have experience tutoring beginner German, French, Spanish, and college essay/academic writing.

A bit about myself: I grew up in Europe, living for 6 years in France and another 6 years in Austria. During that time I learned French, German, and eventually Spanish, so I know how difficult learning a language can be. I have also had the experience of tutors teaching me, so I can appreciate what it feels like to be a student (especially since I'm now a student again too!)

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Very patient and understanding. — Alex is very patient and interesting to work with. He has lived in Europe and can explain some of the cultural habits and quirks. He has the most reasonable fee I have seen and he would be great with children, teens, college students and adults. He does not have a stuffy attitude and enjoys teaching. I hope he continues to teach in the future as he makes the learning fun and has a great sense of h ...
