I have been a lucky educator for over 20 years at various levels from middle school to business school and college. I say "lucky" because I feel fortunate to have done something I absolutely love to do for so long. I have taught English composition, business law, career planning, resume and cover letter preparation, interview preparation, essay writing, legal and medical terminology, basic math and algebra, research methods, business/medical/legal ethics, psychology, counseling, personal statement preparation, standardized test essay preparation, customer service, contract law, public speaking, SAT verbal and writing, GRE verbal and writing, LSAT verbal and writing, and ESL to thousands of students over the years.

I believe that teaching is an art, and that teachers should be able to make learning fun, interesting and dare I say even exciting. A truly good teacher is a facilitator, planting the seeds of self-confidence and ambition in the student, and is a partner in learning. Good teachers are invested in their students' success and achievement and teach their students to look forward to achieving results beyond their wildest dreams. I like to use a variety of teaching methods. My favorite subjects to teach are writing in all forms, public speaking, career and school major choice, resume and cover letter preparation, interview preparation, and LSAT preparation. Whoever you choose for your tutoring needs, I wish you all the best and congratulate you on your efforts to improve yourself and reach your goals.

Bar Exam

I have been a licensed attorney for 20 years and a college law professor for that long as well. I have taught many people to excel in law test preparation and essay writing and can help anyone improve their bar exam performance at an incredibly efficient and cost effective rate in comparison to large bar exam review centers. I struggled to do well on the bar exam when I took it and, to your benefit, I use those struggles to help you avoid your own.

Business

As a professor of business law for over 20 years who has scored in the top 1% on standardized reading and writing sections of the GRE plus taught English and writing in the business school level, I have a firm grasp of business communication and writing. I know the particular demands of this kind of writing and the factors which make one written effort better and more effective than the next. By integrating my background and experience in business communication, law, and education, I can help the student become a powerful and effective business writer.

Career Development

I am presently employed by Career Development Associates, which is a private company providing career development services and counseling in the private and government sector. I have also worked as a career counselor at Baruch College providing career development, vocational, interview, resume writing and general career skills to hundreds of students. While in graduate school, I prepared and presented over ten workshops and presentations involving career development and vocational subjects. I am a member of the National Career Development Association.

Elementary Math

Elementary math is not an easy subject for many kids, and it was not easy for me when I was that age, so I had to learn how to make myself better at math. I can help your son or daughter do the same because I know what it is like to have issues with math. I will help your child become a better math student and, you never know, they might even start liking math!

English

I love the English language and verbal expression in general. This love comes from an appreciation of what words can do and how words can shape expression and communication of ideas. I scored a 99 percentile on the verbal section of the GRE because I have an excellent handle on vocabulary and word usage. This expertise in English combined with an additional expertise in teaching means that when I help you improve your English, I will be helping you for life.

I love working with students in this area and look forward to working with you as well. Good luck in your efforts and congratulations on your initiative to improve yourself.

Law

As a licensed attorney and law professor for nearly 20 years, I know a thing or two about teaching law. I have also taught people to prepare for the LSAT. I must tell you upfront that I failed the Bar Exam three times before passing it. Now you might ask, "Why should I have this guy help me with my law class when he could barely pass the Bar?" I will answer you that, having struggled to pass the Bar forced me to really learn how to write outstanding law answers. Nothing came easy to me in law at first, but that just means I can help things come easier for you in the law now. Now, let's tackle your law class issues!

Perhaps you have had math tutors in the past who were math geniuses and were great in math. I am not that kind of tutor; I struggled with math at times growing up. Instead of making me worse in math, however, those struggles pushed me to become much better, and to enjoy teaching math. I know what it is like to struggle with math, and to be frustrated about it. I will help you beat your math issues and, who knows, maybe one day you will like math too! You never know!
