I am a Columbia graduate with years of experience tutoring 1-on-1 students and teaching yearly/summer-long test prep courses at a number of Manhattan private schools.
When it comes to TEST PREP...
Whether studying for the SAT I or II, ACT, SSAT, SHSAT, or ISEE, I find students perform best when they learn the college (or high school) readiness skills that the tests demand, rather than trying to get by on "hard-and-fast testing tips." Above test taking strategies, my primary focus is making sure my students master the curricular subjects covered on standardized tests, improve their logical reasoning, and practice time management.
Students can expect to work from a plethora of practice tests, example questions, work in a focused, but fun environment, and walk into the test feeling confident and exceedingly prepared for the test and beyond.
I have a wealth of experience tutoring high school English and math, up through calculus. Ask me for more specifics, if you are interested!
I grew up in St. Louis, MO, before moving to NYC for college at Columbia University. After graduating, I worked as a private tutor for Academic Approach and taught their test prep classes at Spence, the Lycee Francais, and George Jackson. While working towards my MFA at the Juilliard School, I have continued tutoring 1-on-1 students at the high school and college level.
