I learned very thorough study and time-management skills, because I personally struggled with such things when I was younger. From this, I gained a unique perspective into how to help students develop the study skills which will serve them best. That has allowed me to help my students develop the study skills they need to do well in school.
I studied classical voice for five years, taking weekly lessons and working on a variety of repertoire ranging from the 17th century to the 20th century. I also performed in many amateur and semi-professional ensembles, most notably as part of Chicago Chorale at various high profile concerts, such as at the Ravinia Festival with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 2011. I have taught students in the past, and I continue to teach students on my own time.
I've written professionally in all sorts of areas, from public policy to grant applications and publications. My focus has always been in crafting work that is easy for the reader to understand while fulfilling all of the requirements of the given project, and I have found this to be a rewarding and exciting subject to teach.
