I specialize in helping students get the most out of their work in Music, English, Italian, and Math. Having been an elementary school homework tutor and a preschool teacher's aide in New York City, a college teaching assistant at Wesleyan University, and a guitar and music theory teacher in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, I've learned that everyone learns differently, and that the more you appreciate the experience of working on the material, the more it sticks with you. I move at the speed and style that best fits the student, and I believe that patience, flexibility, and good humor are superconductive to understanding.
I have been fortunate: the universe has dealt me some great teachers. I'm a 2007 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wesleyan University and a 2003 graduate of Regis High School in New York, where I picked up lots of names, dates, formulas, and study habits, but above all, I've been supremely lucky to learn that when being a student gets frustrating, the feeling of overcoming a challenge is completely worth the effort.
To borrow a line from Thich Nhat Hanh, the most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention. I've been given that gift many times, and I look forward to every opportunity to pass it on.
