My name is Liz, and I am excited to be a WyzAnt tutor. I currently work at Columbia University as a project coordinator. My job involves helping professors and students with course preparation, planning events and programs, and managing the website (Wordpress) and social media. Prior to working at Columbia, I completed my undergraduate degree with a double major in psychology and Spanish and a business minor. As an undergrad, I worked in three different psychology labs as a research assistant and also worked as a teacher's assistant for the research methods course. Upon graduating, I went straight to graduate school to pursue a master's in organizational psychology at Columbia University. While in the program, I worked as an intern at the United Nations, Amnesty International, and the State University of New York. I was also a member of a tutoring program with a local school and assisted students (grades 3-8) with weekly assignments. I completed the MA program with a Certificate in Conflict Resolution and spent some time developing and facilitating workshops about conflict resolution for teachers, volunteers, and graduate students both in English and Spanish.
I am looking to tutor elementary/high school students as well as adults in math, English, or writing. I can also help with GED preparation, college-level writing, psychology and Spanish. I have many resources to share with people that are trying to find a job that is right for them including help with resume writing, cover letters, or interviewing. I also have a particular interest in conflict resolution and am happy to share practical skills in negotiation and conflict resolution for personal or work-related conflicts. Finally, I like to have fun so my particular teaching style involves activities to make the learning process more enjoyable.
I look forward to working with you!
