A graduate of the Columbia University Fiction Writing Program and Loyola University New Orleans, I've dedicated my life to reading and writing. I'm passionate about creative writing, grammar, storytelling, and literature. I work as a bookseller and at a well-established literary magazine, specializing in teen literature.
My interests lie in making great literature accessible to teenagers, and teaching the value of creative writing for academic and personal lives. I believe that solid writing skills are essential and useful in every area of life.
I've taught workshops for all ages, with topics ranging from creative writing to self-image/self-care and bullying. Much of my workshop experience with teenagers is based in my work with Colage, a national youth-led program for children with one or more LGBTQ parents. I've also taught writing workshops for folks in alternative housing programs, and tutored smaller children in reading. My students leave my classes with confidence, tools for self-expression and creativity, and the knowledge that each one of them has a story to tell.
