Hi! My name is Karen and I'm a sophomore in Columbia University in New York with a planned major in Engineering. I went to Stevenson High School and graduated with an unweighted 4.0 GPA and was a peer tutor in high school. I spent my mornings helping other students mostly with prepping for math tests. I have experience with tutoring in Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Tutoring has been a very rewarding experience for me because I feel like I learn as I help other students with subjects. I also enjoy helping other students because I understand how academics, among other things, can be challenging.
I would like also to be able to help students getting ready for the college application process feel more confident as they get ready to take their standardized tests. I scored a 36 on the ACT and a 2350 on the SAT, so I know the preparation that goes into achieving the score that you want. After going through the entire college application process myself just last year, it would be a nice experience to help other students through at least the standardized test portion of that application process.
I can only tutor on weekends and it would be hard for me to travel outside of the midtown and upper Manhattan area.
