I am an adjunct professor at The City College and Manhattan College, teaching communication courses. I also teach Arabic at the New School. Additionally, I have taught French at the University of North Texas. I have many years of teaching experience. I was an assistant professor of communication and information studies at the American University in Dubai, where I taught Introduction to Global Media, Media, Culture and Society, Research Fundamentals, and Games of the Digital World.
I earned my Ph.D. in the humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2009 where my fields of studies were film theory, creative writing, and world literature. I am an alumnus of The New School’s media studies graduate program where I earned my M.A. in 2000. I earned my bachelor's degree at The University of North Texas where I majored in fine arts and design and minored in French.
I am always very well prepared for my tutoring sessions no matter what the subject I am teaching is. I explain the material clearly and always try to make it as interesting as possible. I pace the lesson according to the student's comprehension level. I encourage the student to participate, stimulating and challenging his or her thinking. I am professional and always create an atmosphere that is conducive to learning.
I am experienced in teaching various subjects, including English, Arabic and French as well as preparing students to take the New York State Common Core and New York City Specialized High Schools Admission tests.
In addition to English, I am fluent in Arabic and French.
