Hi there! I'm a math and verbal SAT tutor, and am here for the success of each student. Through one-on-one sessions, I'm hoping to lead each student to fully understanding what they need to do to succeed on the SAT, and that they'll follow through with it. I graduated from NYU in 2009 (3.5 GPA), and I've been tutoring privately for four years. I went to school for music, and in doing so learned how to get a message across, and how to communicate with the people that I encounter.
My general approach for the SATs is to immerse students in the test by having them answer as many questions as they can in a session. The SATs have a rhythm to them, in a way that's similar to music. Once a student understands the feel of the SATs, and can understand exactly how the questions work and how to decode them, their scores will increase dramatically. There are key words and phrases in many questions that can be identified and used to an advantage. My goal is for students to keep seeing question after question from past tests, so that by the time they take the real thing, they're so used to how the SAT feels that they'll nail it.
Feel free to contact me for more information, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of your needs!
