I am a fluent French speaker of American nationality. I graduated from Yale University in 2008 and am currently a dual-degree master's student at New York University. I scored a 5 on the French Language AP test and a 780 on the French SAT II. I have significant experience in French tutoring and in teaching French and English, including in standardized test preparation and in French conversation. I have spent a third of my life living in France, including having attended French elementary school and high school because my father is a French historian at Yale. Therefore, I am well-versed in French literature and culture and speak French without an accent. I have also worked in France and taught and conducted research in multiple Francophone countries.
As a graduate student, I have a flexible schedule and am able to travel to meet with the student. I am a personable, energetic and enthusiastic teacher who has had a great rapport with my students in the past. I am able to provide the reference information of a student I have tutored in French if you are interested.
In addition to having tutored and taught ESL, TOEFL IBT, reading, creative writing, and French, I have taught world history and am available to teach that and U.S. history, European history and social studies as well. I also scored a 5 on the AP English Literature, which is a subject I am also passionate about and available to teach as well.
