Hi all! Guten Tag!
I am offering tutoring in German and Finance, Accounting, and Economics. In addition, I also teach Golf (I am a scratch golf player).
When teaching, my goal is to make the students become interested in the subjects they have to learn, so they want to learn. I achieve this in two ways; firstly, by putting theory into practice and secondly, by boosting the student's confidence.
Confidence is very important. When I first came to the US in 2006 to attend college, my English was sub-par. Every time I spoke, fellow students would make fun and professors sometimes didn't understand me. While this was frustrating, I found that the only way to overcome this is to work hard and use my accent to my advantage. Soon, I became accepted and was eventually known for outstanding work and reliability.
What I try to convey with this example, is that there is something special in every one of us! As a tutor, I see it as my responsibility to find that specialty in a student and help him/her foster it.
Tutoring in German:
I offer conversational German, grammar, writing, proofreading, German literature (classic to modern), German culture, German & European history, and German & European political science (and whatever the student is interested in).
Tutoring in Finance, Accounting, Economics:
I offer tutoring in finance, accounting, macro and microeconomics, money & banking, international trade & finance. I am a commodity trading professional, so my specialty lies in capital markets, equity markets, futures & options, derivatives, ... .
Tutoring in Golf:
I am a scratch golf player and offer golf lessons for any levels. I had a golf scholarship in college and have competed for the team. I have also had top ten finishes in German amateur championships.
I hope we can work together and I can help you boost your or your childs academic (or golf ;-) ) performance!
Andreas
P.S.: Here is my little disclaimer: ;-)
I believe in teaching and making the students want to learn. I don't think doing a students homework or cheating are ways to achieve success. To make tutoring worth the while, I thrive to make the student want to learn and understand. In that way, my sole goal as a tutor is to not be needed anymore down the road :-)
