It is my firm belief that everyone can learn. Learning takes place from the day you are born and it last a life-time. As human beings, we are life-long learners. We cannot always pick the knowledge we receive, but there are basic skills we all need to function in society. I have the knowledge and the skills needed to fulfill what is required as a teacher.

I am a licensed Special Education teacher, therefore I have the ability to teach on multiple and different levels. I have been with the department of education for the past 7 years. During that time I have specifically taught Special Education students for the past 5 years. Additionally, I was an Early Intervention Specialist and provided home-based instruction for non school- aged children with special needs. Throughout my years of teaching, I have continued to attend several professional development activities, and workshops. Still, I continue to improve my teaching skills, as I am a life-long learner as well as a teacher. Also, I have participated in the development of curriculum aligned to the New York State Common Core Standards. For that reason, I feel I am highly qualified in delivering instruction in the subject areas specified in my profile.
