Why get separate tutors for math and writing? I can help with both! I have a wealth of experience teaching and tutoring students as young as six and as old as sixty, in group settings and one-on-one. I help students find and engage their learning strengths. Above all, I am fun, encouraging, and invested in the success of those I teach.
My tutoring and teaching experience includes the following:
Helping eighth graders with math and English assignments at East Palo Alto Charter School, in East Palo Alto, California; tutoring a middle-aged woman who was learning English as a second language for eighteen months; teaching a six-week Outdoor Leadership course to Stanford students; and teaching middle and high school students about farming, ecology and Jewish texts while I was a counselor for two summers at Ramah Outdoor Adventure camp in Colorado.
While at Stanford, I majored in philosophy, focusing on political philosophy and logic. I also studied many other subjects, including history, literature, and creative writing. Upon my graduation from Stanford, I was elected into Phi Beta Kappa, a national academic fraternity that selects just 1% of the nation’s undergraduates for membership.
