Hailing from Germany, I have the body of knowledge of a Renaissance man, applying Socrates-like tutoring methods.
What does that mean? It means the student will be guided in finding answers to problems and problem areas through digging into their own skills and what they already know, not exposing what they do not know. Technical knowledge is important - knowing facts, numbers, and equations - but applying them is even more important. The student will have fun learning, while making significant progress in mastering a given subject.
I am a bilingual (German/English) speaker with a very good Abitur, a Diploma from a German Polytechnical Institute as well as a Masters degree from a well-known graduate school.
My experience in tutoring goes back to business school where I was a teaching assistant for two years tutoring college students in finance up to the 600 graduate level. In the last two years, as part of being involved in developing a children's TV show, I have had the pleasure to work with educators on matters including the STEM curriculum in the scripts for pre K to second grade. While visiting my family in Germany I also have had the pleasure to visit schools and teach about US culture and teach my 14-year old niece and 11-year old nephew in the English language. Despite failing the European History test and not being able to re-take it, I would be happy to pass rigorous questions by interested students.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
