I am Lily and I would be happy to help if you (or your children) are interested in, or having difficulties in, learning Mandarin Chinese. I can tutor for grammar, pronunciation, writing, speaking, and listening for all levels.
I am native Taiwanese. I graduated from National Taiwan University last June with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, and am currently pursuing my Masters in Art Business at Sotheby's in New York. Having the top-notch education in Taiwan, I read, write and speak Mandarin Chinese fluently and coherently.
I hold a Mandarin-English Certificate of Simultaneous Interpreter from Shanghai, China. I also practice Chinese calligraphy at leisure.
I prefer a more structured and question-oriented teaching method and I normally set up course objectives before starting any session. I always make sure that I listen carefully first and understand the need and expectations of my student. I like the classes to be interactive and expect students to bring questions to me and raise more questions as we dig deeper. I want to provide effective help for you and bring improvement to your learning experience. I have tutored my cousins who were born and raised in Canada with their Chinese assignment and they have seen tremendous progress with my help.
I am an approachable person and want to help efficiently but also deliver long-term results. My wish is to develop a genuine interest in the language so that you will be able to self-teach some day.
If you are in the process of learning the language and want to practice your speaking, I may be the perfect fit. I am also willing to help out with your writings and proof-read your assignments. Even if you are an advanced-level student, I am able to help with comprehension and interpretation of Chinese literature too.
