I'm Tom. I enjoy helping people improve their skills in a variety of areas. My scores on the SAT, ACT, and GRE are in the 99th percentile.
My teaching philosophy is that everything is connected in one way or another and that learning concepts is more important in the long run than learning "tricks," although those tricks do come in handy. I believe that students learn in different ways, and that different subjects need to be approached differently.
I'm a current doctoral student available to tutor in anything English-related, including grammar, reading, usage, essay writing and vocabulary. I'm also a computer programmer, so most computer topics— from coding to web design to logic to getting the most out of software— are right up my alley. In addition, I am a musician with a Master's degree from a well-known performing arts school, so I can help out with reading music, music theory, history and interpretation as well.
All the best, and happy learning!
