Three years ago, I began tutoring professionally and have since helped over one hundred students achieve success in a variety of subjects and disciplines. I provide a diverse offering of services, including, but not limited to: exam preparation, standardized test prep, homework help, concept reinforcement, projects, essays etc.
I am an expert at helping students master:
AP Calculus and Calculus I, II, III
Statistics
SAT, ACT (all sections)
Higher level math
Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus
Economics
etc.
The reason I have found great success as a tutor is because I know how to explain difficult concepts to struggling students. In math, my deep understanding of the field allows me to shed new light on topics and show students how to tackle problems in a way they can comprehend. In other areas, my long and varied teaching experience and familiarity with standardized tests enables me to design a unique approach specifically suited to each student's individual strengths and weaknesses. My students enjoy working with me because I think of creative ways to explain complex concepts, keep tutoring sessions fun and stress-free, and always go the extra mile to make sure all of their needs are met. Most of all, I push students to challenge their own standards of success and equip them with the confidence and skills that allow them to exceed their own expectations.
The following is a summary of my qualifications and past achievements:
In 2008, I spent ten weeks in Seoul, South Korea, teaching SAT & ACT prep at an elite private academy. I focused on teaching my students how to think like the test makers and gave them test-taking strategies to help them maximize their scores. Over the course of the ten weeks, my students saw an increase in their SAT scores of 250-500 points.

I was a distinguished math scholar in my high school, receiving both the underclassman and senior math awards in consecutive years. In addition, I set the record (twice) for the highest score in my school's history on the AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination). I finished my school's math curriculum in 10th grade, so for the remaining two years of high school I took advanced undergraduate and graduate level math courses at Columbia University. I spent the summer after 11th grade doing intensive mathematics research funded by the NSF with college students from the nation's top schools, and at the conclusion of the program presented my research at several colloquia and had it published in a mathematics journal.
