Hello!
Welcome to my profile. My name is Elizabeth and I am currently a Sociology PhD candidate in NYC. Before moving to New York I graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond, Virginia, where I majored in Sociology and minored in Biology and Philosophy.
I have been an adjunct professor in the New York/New Jersey area for four years. My field of study is Sociology and I have taught Statistics, Research Methods, Intro to Sociology, Sex and Gender and Marriage and Family. I am a patient and effective professor and alter my teaching style to meet the learning needs of my students. In addition to teaching, I have tutored students in statistics for the past six years and have worked with students on writing/editing skills outside of the classroom. While I have worked primarily with college level students of all ages I am eager to work with students in high school as well.
My areas of expertise are the Social Sciences, Writing and Statistics. I believe my approach to education will make me an asset as your tutor. I understand that students approach their classes and coursework in a variety of ways. In order to master the subject I aim to make my students comfortable in the material and to build their confidence with each session.
I look forward to hearing from you!
