Alex's Answer:

NaCl(s) is table salt in solid form.

NaCl(aq) is table salt in aqueous solution (salt water for example)

H2O(s) is solid water, otherwise known as ice

H20(g) is gaseous water, otherwise known as water vapor

H2O has no free electrons and in pure form does not conduct electricity in solid or gaseous state.

In solid state, the NaCl molecules are tightly interconnected in a crystalline structure with no free electrons.   Solid table salt also doesn't conduct electricity.

However, table salt can dissolve in water (or in some other aqueous solution) to form Na+ and CL- ions and form a great electrical conductor.

What do I do first in this problem? 4x(6x+6)=38

It's a distributive problem and I don't know what to do first. Please help me

Alex's Answer:

First you have to distribute the 6x to the 4x+4 to get.

24x^2+24x=38

Since there are no easy factors, we'll need to proceed with the completing square method.

First divide both sides by 24

x^2+x=38/24

Then complete the square on left

(x+1/2)^2 - 1/4 = 38/24

(x+1/2)^2 = 44/24

x+1/2 = +- 44/24

x = -1/2 +- 11/6

A satellite with an orbital period of exactly 24.0 h is always positioned over the same spot on Earth.

This is known as a geosynchronous orbit. Television, communication, and weather satellites use geosynchronous orbits. At what distance would a satellite have to orbit Earth in order to have a geosynchronous orbit?

Alex's Answer:

35,786 km (22,236 mi) above sea level for a satellite in geosynchronous orbit over the equator.

This is actually a special case but it's the most frequently cited number.

x^2-6x+2=0

solve by completing the square

Alex's Answer:

First thing you have to do is

(x-3)^2 = x^2-6x+9

x^2-6x+2 = (x^2-6x+9) - 7= (x-3)^2 - 7 = 0

(x-3)^2 =  7

x-3 = sqrt(7)

x = 3 +- sqrt (7)

i dont understand this problem 2x + 7 < x-4

I need to solve for x

Alex's Answer:

Perfect answer

 Not if it were x<=-11, the answer would be (-infinity, -11] with the bracket indicating including -11.
