There are two main reasons why I'm the perfect tutor for you. First, I have a deep understanding of many advanced science and math courses. More importantly, I have a proven track record of being able to make this complex information understandable to students.
Because I'm applying to medical school, I have excelled in all of the high level science courses in the pre-med curriculum, including organic chemistry, general chemistry, physics (trig-based), several biology courses, and two semesters of calculus.
I love teaching. I come from a long line of teachers, and my mother, sister, and brother all teach (elementary, high school, college, in that order), so teaching/tutoring is in my blood. I love to find creative ways to break down complicated topics into simple, easy-to-understand ideas. In fact, my organic chemistry professor (who has been teaching orgo for several decades) liked one of my teaching techniques so much, that she adopted it for herself, and gave me credit for it in her lecture. I love to empower students to learn how to learn better for themselves. If you get to the point where you no longer need me as your tutor, I consider that a success.
Most recently, over the last few years, I've tutored orgo 1, orgo 2, bio 1, bio 2, and cell and molec.
Those who get A+s in my college are often asked to lead workshops for those classes, and I led workshops in both orgo 1 and gen chem 1. In the past, I've also tutored writing, and test prep for several personal-training certifications.
By the way, I'm great with kids. Even though most of my recent tutoring has been with college students, in the not too-distant past, I've also tutored kids of all ages, from elementary school through college.
