Hello. In my day job, I am a successful business executive. I have more than 17 years of professional experience working for some of the top companies in the country. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) with a degree in Economics (Marketing and Accounting), and I have an MBA from Columbia University. In high school and college, I volunteered as a tutor to help kids.
Now that I have some free time in the evenings and weekends, I would like to get back into tutoring. This is a bit of a test for myself to see if I should give up the business career and go into teaching. I've been thinking about getting my education degree and becoming a math teacher.
I have always loved math and have been very good at it. I would like to show kids how much fun math can be and how relevant it is to our daily lives. In my business career, I have managed teams of people, and I very much enjoyed training them and teaching them. Tutoring kids in math combines the best of both worlds.
Separately, I am fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese and I love learning languages (I have also studied French, Japanese, and Spanish). Thus, I am also good with kids who come from an international background.
