Hi there! My name is Alex. I am a young professional working as the Manager of Youth Programming for an educational non-profit in Manhattan. I come to Wyzant with over 6 years of intentional and decorated experience in education. Most recently I moved from Chicago where I completed my Masters of Education (M.Ed) and taught full time as a middle school and high school Humanities teacher.
Under my leadership and direction, students saw a dramatic increase in standardized test scores. More importantly, however, my students became confident in their academic abilities resulting in a boost to their self-esteem. I fundamentally believe that every student is capable of profound learning and, as educators, we must treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve. I am committed to the holistic growth of the youth I work with.
I believe that education and learning should be inherently fun. By implementing differentiated and varied curriculum that addresses various learning styles, I strive to connect to every student given that every student is different.
Aside from learning and education, I am an avid marathon runner and outdoorsmen! Hailing originally from Seattle, WA, I enjoy everything evergreen and have a strong addiction to coffee!
