I am currently a high school math teacher in the South Bronx, with five years of experience. I was an English major in undergraduate school. In addition to teaching and providing students with additional math help, I also enjoy helping students with writing and editing papers.
I attended the University of Michigan, where I majored in English. I attended City College for my first Master's degree. My major was Secondary Mathematics education.
I currently teach Algebra 1. During my first three years of teaching, I taught Geometry and Algebra 2. Last year I taught Algebra 2. I also have experience with Regents preparation for Geometry. I am most familiar with the Geometry Regents, but I am also able to assist with preparation for the Algebra 1 or Algebra 2-Trigonometry exams.
I have an English background, so I am available to help students with writing and editing papers. I can also assist with reading comprehension. I enjoy helping students with their essays for college applications as well.
I work well with children, and have been very successful with building and sustaining relationships with current and former students. I strive to not only teach students content, but to teach them the skills necessary to succeed in their academic career and life.
I look forward to hearing from you!
