Hi! My name is Jessie and I was born and raised in Chicago. There, I was a grammar tutor in school since 7th grade! When I got to NYU for college, I fell in love with New York and all the opportunities it had to offer. Although I was a sports business major, I focused mainly on writing (blogs, internship at W magazine, Men's Basketball reporter) and public speaking. My writing and public speaking helped me obtain future jobs with the Chicago Sun Times and gain admission to the Chicago-Kent College of Law. Law was not for me, however, and I have spent the last two years working in music while studying to become a high school math teacher.
In high school, I was two years ahead in math courses, and aced the section on my ACT. Because of my proficiency in the subject, I passed out of most math classes in college. Therefore, in order to gain teacher licensure, I am on my way to obtaining 32 graduate credits of math before entering a teaching program. Most recently, I have taken courses in Calculus, Number Theory, Discrete Math, and History of Mathematics.
My strongest mathematical subjects include: Calculus, Algebra, Precalculus, and Logic. *proficient is many other areas as well
My strongest subjects otherwise include: Writing (great at helping with college essays), grammar, resume/career building, and ACT help.
Finally, because of the many paths I've taken, I have run the gamut of standardized test-taking. I have personally taken the ACT, SATII, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, Illinois Basic Skills Test.
My hours are flexible on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Weekends and I am often available after 6 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Looking forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Jessie
