I am very pleased to be doing something I personally have a great interest in - teaching ESL. I know that language is important for every aspect and interaction in everyday life, and that it sets the foundation for an individual's connection with other people. I also know that leaning a language can be very challenging. I work to support the language learners through carefully designed, individualized language lessons. Since each person has a different learning style and wants to learn the language for a different reason, I help my students maximize their language learning experience by working to accomplish their goals and by using the methods that will work best for their learning style.
I have advanced training in English language and literature and teaching ESL. I have taught ESL for more than 10 years. I have taught children and adults, in one-on-one and group settings, from absolute beginner to advanced courses. I have also taught monolingual and multilingual groups, illiterate and literate learners. In addition, I have done continuing education in counseling and working with diverse populations.
